Proud Mary - Opening Credits Sequence

I drew inspiration from classic 70's blaxploitation genre movies like Coffy and Foxy Brown that also inspired the print campaign. I tried to interpret those visuals with a modern lens. From that world we pulled our motifs of radiating circles, diagonal lines, and the tinted after-images the character's motions leave behind. I was also heavily influenced by the music. The track, Papa Was a Rolling Stone by The Temptations has a really groovy base line that motivates a lot of the motions of the graphics.
